LESSONRENDER · ONE STEP · MAKE A LESSON FROM YOUR OWN MATERIALS Use this file when you already have the material for a class: an article, your notes, a story, a song you have the rights to, photos, a worksheet, links, a transcript, anything. It turns all of it into one LessonRender lesson. HOW TO USE THIS FILE 1. Open an AI assistant. These work well, also on free accounts: DeepSeek (chat.deepseek.com), Gemini (gemini.google.com), Claude (claude.ai), ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), Gemini (gemini.google.com). 2. Attach SKILL.md plus your materials (the + or paperclip button). Text can also be pasted at the end of the prompt, under MATERIALS. 3. Fill in the TEACHER'S CHOICES below (replace the text in [brackets]). 4. Copy the prompt and send it to the AI. 5. The AI answers with your lesson in a box (a code block). Copy it, or download it and paste it or open it in https://jeronimovis.github.io/lessonrender/online/ Good to know - Videos: most AI assistants read the words of a video only from a transcript. Paste a transcript with times (step 1 of the YouTube path gives you one) and the lesson can play exact clips. With a link alone, the lesson plays the whole video and builds the tasks around your other materials. - Web pages: some assistants open links and some don't. Pasting the text is the safest. PROMPT: ==== TEACHER'S CHOICES ==== LEARNERS: [e.g. adults at work, teenagers, architects] LEVEL: [e.g. B1] CLASS LENGTH: [e.g. 45 minutes] STYLE: [classic / modern / editorial / blueprint / concrete / notebook] TOPIC OR AIM (optional): [e.g. talking about housing, the past simple, preparing for a job interview] FOCUS AND EXTRAS (optional): [e.g. more speaking, a role play, a reading text, homework] FILE NAMES (optional): [the names your images, audio or video will have in the lesson folder, e.g. photo1.jpg, interview.mp3] =========================== Follow the attached SKILL.md exactly to create ONE LessonRender lesson file for the learners above, built from everything I attached or pasted below. 1. Read all my materials first. - Work out the topic, the most useful content and the language worth teaching at this level. - The materials are the source of every fact, quote and answer in the lesson. Every answer must be checkable in them. - If the materials are too long, choose the best parts for the class length. If they are too short, add tasks that use them more deeply, and speaking. - If a material is unreadable or you cannot open it, leave it out and say so in the summary. 2. Turn each kind of material into the right LessonRender blocks (SKILL.md Part B): - Text (articles, notes, stories, worksheets): a [read] block. Keep the teacher's words; if a text is long, use an extract of the right length for the level (SKILL.md section 2.2) and write its source after " | " on the [read] line. Base gap fills, [tf], [m], [short], [order] and [long] items on it. - Images: an [img] line with a short caption, used for a lead-in, description, prediction or discussion. Use the names in FILE NAMES, in the order I attached the images; if none are given, call them image01.png, image02.png… in that order. Base no answer on a detail you are unsure you can see. - YouTube links or video and audio files WITH a timed transcript: [play] lines with clips and times taken only from the transcript, and listening tasks as in SKILL.md sections 3–7. - YouTube links or video and audio files WITHOUT a transcript: one [play] line with no times (it plays the whole recording), used for a gist question or discussion only. Write no detail questions about it and invent no times. - Web page links: use their content only if you can open and read them. Otherwise add a [link] card and say so in the summary. - Vocabulary lists, grammar notes or exam tasks from the teacher: keep them, in the right tags ([vocab], [match], [note], exercises). 3. Build the lesson with SKILL.md Part A: the level profile (section 2), the lesson arc (section 5, adapted for reading or mixed material), the right tags (section 6) and the rules for good items (section 7). The minutes of all ## exercises add up to the class length. End with one [teacher] block: the materials used, the plan, timing, what to cut, easier and harder options, and homework. 4. Check the file against the Final checklist in SKILL.md Part B, section 12, and fix anything that fails. 5. Deliver as SKILL.md section 11 says: the whole lesson in ONE code block that starts with ```markdown and contains nothing else. After the code block, a short summary: which materials you used and how, which you left out and why, the file names the teacher must put in the lesson folder (and which image is which), the vocabulary and grammar chosen, and any defaults you used for choices left in [brackets].
